About me:

I’m Daniela Guzmán, a data analyst based in the Netherlands with a background in political science, international public management and public policy.

I moved from Mexico to the Netherlands to pursue my Master’s degree, a decision that opened a new chapter both professionally and personally. My experience working in public programme coordination in Mexico and with an international human rights organization in the Netherlands taught me that good decisions depend not only on having information, but on knowing how to structure, analyze and communicate it.

That curiosity eventually led me to data analytics. I’m now building on my policy and project experience through SQL, BigQuery, spreadsheets, data cleaning, visualization and analytical problem-solving. I also designed and built this website, Data by Daniela, as a space to document my work and turn what I learn into projects that others can explore.

I’m particularly interested in opportunities where data can support better operational, policy and strategic decisions.

Beyond data...

Curiosity has always been a big part of who I am. I believe that learning is a privilege, and I try to make the most of every opportunity to discover something new. Moving countries has only deepened my interest in different cultures, perspectives, and ways of living.

I love travelling and recording little moments from the places I visit, whether it's a new city, a beautiful street, or an ordinary moment I want to remember. I also love cooking, because I believe you can learn so much about a culture through its food. In Mexico, where I come from, food is more than something we eat; it's how we bring people together, share stories, and create memories.

I'm also an avid reader and audiobook listener, particularly drawn to Latin American women writers such as Isabel Allende, Cristina Rivera Garza, Dahlia de la Cerda, and Lydia Cacho. Their stories constantly remind me how much there is to learn from other people's experiences.

When I'm not working with data, reading, or experimenting with a new recipe, you'll probably find me playing tennis, exploring somewhere new with my partner, or spending time with my cat.
